Community Guidelines
Last Updated: 8/7/2026
1. Purpose
Welcome to AuraJot. We built this platform to provide a safe, authentic space where people can express their true emotions, connect through shared human experiences, and build a supportive community.
Because emotions can be complex, raw, and vulnerable, it is crucial that our platform remains a sanctuary for expression rather than a space for harm. These guidelines exist to protect our users, protect the platform, and ensure that every person who logs into AuraJot feels respected and safe.
2. Core Community Values
Every moderation decision on AuraJot is guided by these core values:
- Respect: We treat every user's experience as valid.
- Empathy: We strive to understand rather than judge.
- Authenticity: We encourage genuine emotional expression over manufactured perfection.
- Safety: We aggressively protect our users from harm, harassment, and exploitation.
- Compassion: We respond to vulnerability with kindness.
3. Expected Behaviour
When you participate in the AuraJot community, we ask that you:
- Express yourself honestly: Your feelings are valid. Share them authentically.
- Support rather than attack: If someone is hurting, offer a listening ear.
- Respect differing experiences: Everyone processes emotions differently. Disagreement is fine; invalidating someone else's lived experience is not.
- Engage in healthy discussion: If you leave comments or interact, do so constructively.
- Report harmful content: Use our reporting tools if you see something that violates these guidelines, rather than escalating conflicts.
4. Prohibited Content
To maintain a safe environment, the following behaviors and content are strictly prohibited:
Harassment and Bullying
Targeted attacks, repeated unwanted contact, doxxing, or coordinating others to harass an individual will not be tolerated.
Hate Speech
Content that attacks, degrades, or promotes violence against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, disease, or disability.

Graphic or Disturbing Content

5. Emotional Expression Policy (The AuraJot Distinction)
AuraJot is built for emotions. We firmly believe in creating space for the dark as well as the light.
- Allowed: You are completely welcome to express sadness, grief, loneliness, anxiety, heartbreak, frustration, and emotional vulnerability.
- Not Allowed: You may not use the platform to encourage suicide, encourage self-harm, or encourage violence and abuse against yourself or others.
If you are struggling, we want you to share your feelings, but we will intervene if your content crosses the line into active encouragement of harm.
6. Sensitive Content
We understand that processing emotions often involves discussing trauma, abuse, addiction, grief, violence, or medical issues.
When discussing these topics, we ask that you do so respectfully and responsibly. If your content deals with graphic descriptions of trauma or abuse, we strongly recommend utilizing content warnings or tags (e.g., "[Trigger Warning: Abuse]") so that other users can navigate the platform safely.
7. Respectful Communication
Disagreement is a natural part of human interaction, but attacks are not.
- Acceptable: "I disagree with how you handled that situation, I think you should have walked away."
- Unacceptable: "You are an idiot and deserve what happened to you."
Critique the idea or the action, do not attack the person.
8. Reporting and Moderation
If you see something that violates these guidelines, please use the in-app Report button.
- Process: Reports are sent to our moderation team for review.
- Confidentiality: All reports are strictly confidential. The user you report will not know who reported them.
- Investigation: We review the reported content and its context before taking action.
9. Enforcement Actions
When a violation occurs, we take progressive enforcement actions based on the severity, repetition, and intent of the violation. Actions may include:
- Educational Warning: A notification reminding the user of our guidelines.
- Content Removal / Soft Deletion: Hiding or removing the offending content.
- Feature Restrictions: Temporarily revoking the ability to post or comment.
- Temporary Suspension: Locking the account for a set duration.
- Account Termination (Permanent Ban): Permanent removal from AuraJot.
- Emergency Action: In cases of severe violations (e.g., child safety, terrorism, imminent physical harm), accounts will be terminated immediately and reported to relevant authorities.
10. Appeals Process
If you believe a moderation action was taken in error, you may appeal the decision by contacting aurajotsupport@gmail.com. Your appeal will be reviewed by a different moderator than the one who took the original action. We will communicate the final outcome of the appeal within a reasonable timeframe.
11. Repeat Offenders
AuraJot employs a progressive enforcement model. Repeated violations of our Community Guidelines will result in escalating penalties. Users who demonstrate a consistent unwillingness to follow these rules will face permanent account termination.
12. AI Moderation Disclosure
To keep our growing community safe, AuraJot utilizes automated AI systems (such as the Crisis Interceptor) to assist in detecting high-risk content, spam, and severe policy violations. While these systems help us act quickly to protect users, significant enforcement actions (such as permanent bans) typically involve human review.
13. Community Evolution
As AuraJot grows and evolves, so too will these guidelines. We reserve the right to update this document as we encounter new challenges. We will notify the community of any significant changes.
